Embedding climate solutions for a resilient planet and adaptive communities
Rural communities are facing the frontline impacts of climate change, including longer dry spells, rising living costs and growing uncertainty around energy access and use. ESAF Foundation responds by helping communities adopt solar power, switch to clean fuels and build climate-smart livelihoods. These are practical, everyday shifts that improve lives. Lasting change begins when people lead, and when solutions fit the realities they live with.

What We Do
We anchor climate action in local enterprise and everyday choices, starting with clean energy and growing into solutions that improve lives and protect the planet.
Foster energy access and efficiency
Through awareness campaigns and product promotion, we reduce reliance on kerosene and firewood by introducing cleaner alternatives.
Promote behaviour change through outreach
Clean energy education is embedded into self-help group meetings, exhibitions and demonstration sessions, particularly with women and rural communities.
Train grassroots clean energy entrepreneurs
The ESAF Urjabandhu programme builds a cadre of youth and electricians trained to design, install and maintain solar energy systems.
